After his plans to have a sex change became public, the wife of a Florida city manager is pushing for divorce.    She filed for divorce last February, after her husband, Steve Stanton, announced his intentions to become a woman.  The news became public at the time and he was fired from his job.

Steve Stanton is now living as a woman, Susan, and plans to have her final sex change operation this spring.  The split between husband and wife has been described as “expected” and negotiations have been amicable.  Since her job loss over the sex change announcement, Susan has applied for more than one hundred positions in city management positions and interviewed for several top jobs.
