Electronic Evidence Appears in Divorce Court

February 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Anyone thinking about divorce or going through a divorce had better be careful of what’s in their email account - or on their MySpace page. According to a new survey conducted by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, 88% of divorce attorneys say they have seen an increase in the number of divorce cases in which electronic evidence plays a factor. James Hennenhoefer, president of the academy, commented that people are surprisingly careless with their electronic data. Information about illicit affairs and undisclosed assets can often be found floating around in cyberspace much more easily than people expect.

You can’t be too careful when going through something as personal as a divorce. Contact San Diego divorce lawyers Fischer & Van Thiel to discuss your situation. Call them at 760.722.7646 today.
